Today is the 24th anniversary of Canada’s worst mass murder.
14 women were killed when shooter Marc Lepine staged his attack at Montreal’s Ecole Polytechnique on December 6th, 1989.
Lepine took his own life after the 20 minute rampage, which left 13 others hurt.
Locally, the December 6 Coalition of Waterloo Region is holding its annual vigil at the Newfoundland Club in Cambridge from 5:30 until 6:30 this evening.
A commemoration event is also being held this morning at 11:30 at the University of Waterloo’s Student Design Centre.
