Regardless of how old you are, finding full time work doesn’t come easy.
Co-Founder of the Working Centre in Downtown Kitchener, Joe Mancini tells 570 News in the end the jobless numbers don’t matter. He says everyone, regardless of age is having trouble finding full time work.
“It’s increasingly hard to attach on to full time work. Individuals are getting temporary, part time contract work and so that adds to the level of unemployment and people looking for work on a constant basis.”
Mancini adds this number does not include those on social assistance – a number he believes is minimum 9,000 residents in Waterloo Region.
“It’s very discouraging and it takes tones of extra effort and patience to link to an employer who will offer you full time work because the opportunity is just not there.”
