Festival of Lights underway this evening

Chanukah, the Festival of Light, begins at sundown tonight.
It is one of the holiest festivals on the Hebrew calendar and lasts until December 5th.
Locally, it will be marked later today at the Waterloo Public Square.
The annual lighting of the Menorah takes place at nightfall.
The event, which runs from 5:30 until 7 p.m. is open to everyone and includes the ceremony, traditional latkes and doughnuts.
