The NCAA Final Four of field hockey will have some local flavour.
Waterloo’s Jessica Buttinger and the Duke Blue Devils take on top-ranked Maryland in one of the semi-finals today at 2pm in Norfolk, Virginia.
Buttinger tells 570 News it’s huge for the school as the Blue Devils have not made the Final Four in seven years.
“We put in the work…we deserve to be in this final four. We’ve been hearing from alumni this week and they’re just so proud,”.
Buttinger attended Resurrection Catholic High School in Kitchener and has also played for Team Canada.
She got into field hockey at Rez, but has also played ice hockey, soccer and participated in track.
