Rangers ship McEneny to Kingston

The Kitchener Rangers front office was busy on Wednesday.
Veteran defenceman Evan McEneny was traded to the Kingston Frontenacs Wednesday afternoon in exchange for defenceman Dylan DiPerna and a 2nd round pick in the 2015 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection.
DiPerna, a second round pick for Kingston in 2012 has tallied 10 points, 3 goals and 7 assists in 66 regular season games. The Mississauga native has also played in four playoff games and is eligible for the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.
McEney meanwhile, leaves Kitchener after having played in 126 regular season games, netting 8 goals and 39 assists for 47 points. The Hamilton native also tallied 4 points in 14 playoff games.
Earlier that day the team announced the acquisition of tough guy Paxton Leroux from the London Knights. The Peterborough native recorded two points and 98 penalty minutes in 35 regular season games with the Knights.
The Rangers are coming off of a 9-6 loss in Erie on Tuesday and skate against the Belleville Bulls tomorrow night at the Aud.
