Six goals wasn’t enough against the high flying Erie Otters.
The Kitchener Rangers fell 9-6 in a rare morning game yesterday at the Erie Insurance Arena.
Justin Bailey scored a goal and added two assists, Radek Faksa also scored and added a helper, while Darby Llewellyn, Ryan MacInnis and Brent Pedersen all extended their scoring streaks.
The Otters trio of Connor Brown (1G, 2A), Connor McDavid (1G, 1A) and Dane Fox (2G, 3A) combined for 10 points in the win.
The Rangers made a goaltending change in the second period when Jordan DeKort came into the game in relief of Matthew Greenfield. It marked the fourth time the Rangers have made a goalie change in the last seven games.
With the loss the Rangers drop to 7-13-0-1 and remain in the basement of the Western Conference with 15 points and a league low 59 goals. The Otters improved to 19-3-1-0 and sit in first place in the OHL.
The Rangers return to the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium on Friday, November 22 to host the Belleville Bulls at 7:30 pm.
