Rangers double up the Soo at the Aud

The Kitchener Rangers are winners of two weekend games at the Aud.

Rookie forward Nick Magyar scored twice and added an assist Sunday afternoon as the Rangers doubled up the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds 6-3 in front of nearly 72-hundred at the Aud. Evan McEneny, Ryan MacInnis, Brent Pedersen and Radek Faksa also scored in the winning effort.

It was a costly win however. Waterloo native Jimmy Soper suffered a broken thumb and Matia Marcantuoni left the game with an undisclosed upper body injury.

Matthew Greenfield stopped 17 of the 18 shots he faced after relieving Jordan DeKort in the first period.

On Friday night the Rangers edged the Owen Sound Attack 2-1 in a shootout. Radek Faksa and Darby Llewellyn tallied goals in the shootout, and goaltender Jordan DeKort made 20 saves for the win.

The Rangers next game is this Tuesday, November 19, when they head to Erie to take on the Otters at 11:00 a.m.
