The roundabout debate has flared up again in the Waterloo Region after Councillor Sean Strickland said they aren’t safe for pedestrians.
President and CEO of the Cambridge Chamber of Commerce Greg Durocher joined Gary Doyle’s show last week. Durocher is a big supporter of the roundabouts, just not in their present form. He says there is no doubt that we have to move pedestrians out of the turning circles.
With the success Europe has with roundabouts, Durocher thinks the region should look into utilizing those examples. And not put barriers up that he feels “hide’s people.” He also adds that from a communters perspectives, all we went is effective transportation.
