Multiple Crashes over Long Weekend

It has been a rough long weekend for police so far.

Since Saturday, three motorists have been sent to hospital in two separate vehicle collisions; both Saturday afternoon.

Two were sent to hospital after a two car crash on New Dundee Road.

Waterloo Regional Police say one of the drivers had to be airlifted to Hamilton with serious injuries, the other was sent to Cambridge Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

According to police, a 21-year-old driver crossed the centre line on New Dundee Road, near Fischer Hallman. The Kitchener man then crashed into an oncoming car driven by a 44-year-old woman.

Police are still investigating.

Meanwhile one motorcyclist was sent to hospital after a multi-motorcycle collision on 401 WB and HWY 6 North.

OPP say a group of motorcycles was merging onto the 401 WB from HWY 6 north, when three of the bikes collided, lost control, and went down.

Sgt. Dave Woodford with OPP tells 570 News it’s unknown why the collision occurred.

One man was transported to hospital in critical condition, while the other two riders sustained minor injuries.

Anyone who witnessed this collision is asked to contact Cambridge OPP.
