WRDSB looking at changing bell times

The Waterloo Region District School Board is again considering changing bell times in an effort to save money.

The board scrapped the proposal last year after hearing from parents, many of whom were concerned their younger children would have to catch the bus in the dark during the winter months.

The Record reports, the new plan could save the board upwards of one-million-dollars in busing costs.

The proposal could see students at half of the region’s elementary and high schools starting 20 minutes earlier, with most of the region’s high schools having a starting bell between 8 and 8:10 a.m.
