Kitchener Rangers rookie defenceman Doug Blaisdell will miss a month with a shoulder injury.
The 17 year old was hurt in an exhibition game this week with the Laurier Golden Hawks.
Jared Gilbert, who missed last week’s opener with the flu, is the likely candidate to fill the hole on the back end.
Meantime, rookie Ryan MacInnis is expected to be in the line-up for tonight’s tilt with the Peterborough Petes.
MacInnis was in Pittsburgh yesterday to take part in the All-American Prospects game.
The Rangers say there are still tickets available for tonight’s contest versus the Petes, which marks a homecoming of sorts for Waterloo Wolves grad Steve Lorentz.
570 News has the pre-game show at 7pm.
