The Kitchener Memorial Auditorium will become even more historic come Friday when the Kitchener Rangers kick off the regular season against the Saginaw Spirit.
The “Hall of History” gives fans attending the game the opportunity to travel back to the team’s inaugural 1963-64 season will officially open.
“The Hall of History is an opportunity to showcase our history so all fans can share in it. We’re excited to present this space where we can bring our traditions and treasures out of storage and proudly display them,” explains Steve Bienkowski, Chief Operating Officer and Governor of the Kitchener Rangers.
Fans will get a chance to re-live the teams Memorial Cup Championship seasons with displays featuring never-before-seen items. The opening night exhibits will also feature players with Rangers roots who have gone on to professional and international success.
“This addition to our facility allows us to interact with our alumni and to put on display memorabilia celebrating their achievements with the Rangers and beyond,” says Bienkowski.
Doors will open at 6:00pm to those holding a valid game ticket for tonight’s game, and to the general public during Rangers Authentics hours on Thursdays (4-8pm) and Saturdays (10-6pm).
