The 14th annual PROFIT HOT 50 list ranks a Waterloo company among Canada’s top new growth companies.
Magnet Forensics is ranked 7th on the list.
The company is a global leader in the development of forensic software that recovers data.
CEO Adam Belsher tells 570’s Gary Doyle show their software allows police agencies to recover data even after a user has deleted it, adding in most cases, data can never be totally deleted, “Any crime, whether it’s a homicide, or it could be fraud, there’s usually some kind of digital footprint on computers or on a mobile phone, even after someone has purposely deleted it, that stuff is still available if you know how to find it and where to look.”
Their list of customers include the Federal Bureau of Investigation, “We sell a software product, so they use our product to do their digital investigation. So if there’s a homicide or something involving child exploitation like child trafficking or missing persons case.”
The company has been around since 2009.
