Local Vendor Loses Thousands In Market Blaze

The owner of Koka-Bora Creations, like many, thought they were dreaming when they heard the news about the fire at the St. Jacobs Farmers’ Market Monday morning.

Stephan Marinov tells 570 News he lost everything, “I do woodwork and I concentrate on mostly smaller things, so I brought everything to the market and I kept everything in there.”

“For a dollar figure, it’s around the $2,000 to $3,000 range, I haven’t calculated it yet. As far as insurance goes, any vendor insurance doesn’t cover merchandise, so it’s basically a complete loss there.”

Marinov says now he’s busy focusing on an upcoming event, “I’m working hard on getting my entire store up and running again and I’ll be taking part in the Mary Allen Studio Tour at the end of September on September 28th and 29th, so they can come see me.”
