It sounds like a TV commercial, but Chris Hadfield says he’s really looking forward to waking up and smelling the coffee when he gets back to planet Earth.
The veteran Canadian astronaut is scheduled to come home tonight (10:30 ET), ending a five-month stay aboard the International Space Station.

During the mission Hadfield became the station’s first Canadian commander.
At his last news conference from space, the 53-year-old said he really missed the smell of food — especially that of fresh coffee.
In space he squeezes most of his food and drink from plastic pouches.
During his two previous space missions in 1995 and 2001, Hadfield glided smoothly back to Earth in space shuttles.
This time he’ll parachute down to terra firma in Kazakhstan in a Russian Soyuz space capsule, and he’s bracing for a hard landing.
The Russian cosmonaut and American astronaut who blasted off with Hadfield in December are coming back with him.
It’ll be at least three years before the next Canadian astronaut visits the space station.
The two candidates for that mission are rookie astronauts David Saint-Jacques and Jeremy Hansen.
