Lisaard House will be building a new residential hospice in southwest Kitchener.
It’s expected to be complete by the fall of 2014 and cost $4-million. It will be built on lands owned by Conestoga College.
Sheila Ainsworth, President of Lisaard House’s Board of Directors, explained that: “With the addition of Hospice Palliative Beds for those facing end-of-life diseases, we are responding to an evident and increasingly urgent need within the region. Our team is excited about facing the challenges ahead and extending our reputation of excellence in providing professional compassionate care outside of a hospital setting.”
Like the original Lisaard House, the new hospice will provide around-the-clock palliative care to patients in a home-like setting at no cost to themselves or their families.
