Kuntz Electroplating Inc. Evacuated Wednesday

Workers at Kuntz Electroplating Inc. were evacuated after a small fire broke out in one of the buildings on Wilson Avenue in Kitchener Wednesday afternoon.
It happened around 11:30 a.m. in the Polishing Building, known as Plant #3.
Roof work was being done at the time by an outside contractor when a spark ignited part of the building’s roof.
Kuntz Electroplating Emergency Response Team responded after reports of smoke in the building.
The fire was extinguished with by the Response Team as well as Kitchener Fire crews.
No one was hurt during the evacuation and it lasted no more than an hour.
