The Waterloo Region District School Board closed Jacob Hespeler Secondary School just after 11AM Wednesday morning due to a sewage back up.
Students were sent to Heritage Baptist College after an odour was detected around 10:45 AM.

Safety Personnel worked alongside the Fire Department to determine what happened and if the school was safe for students and staff.

Assistant Superintendent for the Waterloo Region District School Board, Jim Barrie tells 570 News that Jacob Hespeler SS was closed because of a “sewage related issue.” The school will remain closed for Wednesday and operate as usual Thursday.
