West, Texas is still trying to recover from a deadly fertilizer plant explosion Wednesday night.
More than 160 people have been injured with as many as 15 people believed to have been killed by the blast.
Here in Canada, Vice President of Strategy and Alliances at Canadian Fertilizer Institute, Clyde Graham tells 570’s Jeff Allen show Ammonium Nitrate is the only chemical to be concerned about.
When mixed with the wrong chemicals this could have disastrous consequences.
However, Graham says any facility using this chemical has strict safety and security regulations in effect.
Graham adds, “North America has a very good safety record with the use of Fertilizer.” He says its best to let authorities determine what caused the Texas Plant explosion and has no speculations as to what could have happened.
