A group of four local residents are in Boston right now and were running in the Boston Marathon when the explosions happened today.
Michelle Kraddock is the marathon group leader with Runner’s Choice in Waterloo
and she tells 570 News she’s hearing that it is just chaos at the finish line.
She says these local runners put hours and hours of tough training in bad weather to get to Boston today and to have this experience is “totally unbelievable”.
She says she knows through the race tracking system that three in her group of four did finish the race.
The other did get to the 40k mark and she is not sure where he is.
She has heard from two of the four .. that they are safe. She still hasn’t heard from the other two.
More than two-thousand canadians were taking part in the race.
