Guelph woman charged in internet scam

A Guelph woman is facing charges in an alleged internet scam from 2012.

Guelph Police say between January and June of that year they received five complaints from victims throughout Canada.

The victims were persuaded to send an email money transfer in exchange for an electronic device, which was never delivered.

Police made an arrest yesterday.

33-year-old Jennifer Egan is charged with five counts of fraud under $5000. She is due in court next month.
