3:30- Gerald Jacobs, Commanding Officer of the 1596 Royal Highland Fusiliers of Canada – Army Cadets, Re: The 96th annual wreath-laying ceremony in commemoration of the Battle of Vimy Ridge will be held at the Kitchener Armoury located beside the Kitchener Auditorium at 350 East Avenue tonight between 7-9pm tonight. From April 9-12, 1917, 100,000 Canadians fought in this battle, where we lost 3600 soldiers and wounded over 10,000.  Canada became a nation during this battle as it was the first time that Canada fought as a nation in a major war.
