38 old Jason Arndt has been sentenced.
He’s the truck driver who hit 13 year old Lydia Herrle, near her home in St. Agatha.
CTV reports Arndt will have to pay a 2-thousand dollar fine and go without his driver’s licence for six months after pleading guilty to careless driving.
Herrle was getting off a school bus back on May 17th of 2012 when she was hit by a waste disposal truck on Erbs road.
She suffered multiple fractures and a brain injury, and remains in rehabilitative therapy.
Arndt says he was reaching for a cigarette and lighter and when he looked up, he saw the school bus, but wasn’t able to stop in time.
