Waterloo Region and more than 200 of its outside workers have ratified a new contract.
The deal, reached with the Canadian Union of Public Employees, Local 1656 is a four year agreement which includes yearly wage increases of 1.5 per cent.
In a news release, the Region says it’s a good deal for all involved in that it provides “equitable and fair wages and working conditions” but also maintains and improves services.
The workers are involved in such areas as airport operations, waste management, water services and transportation.
