2:00- Greg Weiler, President of the ETFO, Re: The Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario has decided not to resume supervising extracurricular activities. The union says it won’t be asking its 76,000 members to resume voluntary activities, like sports teams and clubs. The teachers’ withdrawal of voluntary duties is to protest the use of legislation to impose contracts on public school educators in January.

2:30- Tom Flanagan, a former adviser to Prime Minister Harper, is apologizing for suggesting people who look at child pornography should not be jailed. Flanagan, a professor at the University of Calgary, made the controversial remark during a lecture in Lethbridge, Alberta. A typical reaction came from Alberta Premier Alison Redford, who says it was a disgusting remark that turned her stomach.  Flanagan says his words were “badly chosen,” adding he condemns the sexual abuse of children.
