Cambridge bakery to close in May

A Cambridge bakery has fallen victim to cost-cutting.
Snyder’s-Lance, based out of Charlotte, North Carolina, has announced the local bakery will close, effective May 17th of this year.
It says the decision followed a comprehensive review of its current manufacturing facilities.
It says production will be consolidated into other existing manufacturing sites.
It’s not clear exactly how many employees are affected, but Snyder’s-Lance says it will provide severance and outplacement benefits.
Displaced workers will also be considered for openings in its other facilities.
