More surgeries cancelled at GRH

The gastrointestinal outbreak at Kitchener’s Grand River Hospital continues to impact the schedule for surgeries.

Nine more surgeries set for today, that require post-surgical care have been cancelled, due to staffing shortages caused by the outbreak.

Officials say they are reviewing the situation daily, and affected staff are recovering at home.

21 staff who work on 5N are recovering at home from gastrointestinal symptoms.

Fifteen surgeries have already been cancelled this week.
