BlackBerry may be getting all the attention lately, but there are over 1,000 tech companies in Waterloo Region.
The CEO of Communitech says the area is averaging over one new start-up a day.
Iain Klugman tells 570’s Gary Doyle Show the good news is we are seeing an accelerated rate of start-up activity, as well as more and better entrepreneurs.
“What we’re seeing is Waterloo emerging as one of the cool kids…one of the top tech clusters in North America.”
Klugman adds we can’t forget we are an education cluster too, with close to 100-thousand post-secondary students in Waterloo Region.
