Regional Police confirm that additional human remains have been found

Waterloo Regional Police confirm to 570 News that as a result of information obtained through the course of their investigation into the death of Kelsey Louise Felker, additional human remains have now been recovered.
They were located at two sites during searches.: in a wooded area off River Road. The Record reports, police also found remains in an area off Spring Valley Road near the Woodside National Historic Site.
The remains have been transported to Hamilton for a post mortem examination and further expert analysis.
The partial remains of Felker were found just over a week ago in a garbage dumpster on Frederick Street in Kitchener.
Homicide Detectives in partnership with the Coroner’s office continue to investigate the circumstances that led to the death of Kelsey Louise Felker.
“We are very proud of the efforts of our investigators and are grateful to members of our community who have provided information,” said Deputy Chief Brent Thomlison.
“Our hope is that the progress made so far will help family and friends begin to come to terms with the tragic loss of Kelsey.”
The investigation at 250 Frederick Street in Kitchener was expected to be completed on Friday.
On January 31st, police arrested 37-year old Stephen Roy Johnson of Kitchener. He has been charged with First Degree Murder and Indignity to a Human Body in connection with Felker’s death. His next court appearance is scheduled for February 15, 2013.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death is continuing.
