There was quite a buzz around the building that houses the Rogers Kitchener Radio Group on Thursday after 570 News and it’s two sister stations received some very good news.
The Rogers Kitchener Radio Group is a cluster of three radio stations that includes 570 News, KIX 106.7 and 96.7 CHYM-FM and while all of them had impressive numbers in the latest BBM ratings – one continues to be the runaway leader in the Region.
The Fall 2012 Bureau of Broadcast Measurement Radio ratings see 96.7 CHYM-FM as one of the most market dominant radio stations in all of Canada.
Mike Collins is General Manager of the Rogers Kitchener Radio group and he tells 570 News the numbers are reflective of the hard work being done at all levels. “One of the hardest things to do when your the top rated station is to get to #1 – the only thing that’s harder is staying number one – and I’m so proud of the entire team of 96.7 CHYM-FM for all their hard work in the last radio ratings.”
Collins added that a big reason for CHYM’s continued success is the man who has been a staple for people waking up in this region for some three decades, “…the (CHYM) morning show continues to be the most popular and entertaining morning show in the region and so much of that has to do with George Michaels who for almost 30 years has been the top rated morning show in this area.”
It was also a very good day for 570 News as it continues to have the 2nd highest rated morning show in the region.
