Great Canadian Food Fight

The Food Bank of Waterloo Region is competing for bragging rights against other Food Banks across Canada for 48 hours starting Thursday.

It’s part of the Fall Food Drive, called the Great Canadian Food Fight.

Executive Director of The Food Bank of Waterloo Region, Wendi Campbell tells 570 News how you can donate.

“Starting at 6:00 tonight, the Food Bank will be operating extended hours, so they can make donations here, at 50 Alpine Court. They can make a donation at their local grocery store, fire hall, or they can make an online donation at TheFoodBank.ca. And all financial donations will be  included in the final food fight count.” Campbell said.

The goal of the Fall Food Drive is to collect 240,000 lbs of food, and $178,000.

The Mayors Kitchener and Waterloo have challenged their respective cities to raise more food than each other. Watch their video below.
