Former Advisor Facing Fraud Charges

A man accused of stealing millions from local residents is set to appear in court today to face fraud charges.

52-year-old Daniel P. Reeve is charged with defrauding the public and theft over 5-thousand dollars.

Police say they’re investigating complaints that Reeve, acting as a financial advisor, convinced up to 175 people to contribute to private and public investments.

Detectives allege Reeve misrepresented the investments and misappropriated the money.

The alleged offences happened from 2006 to 2009 – total losses are estimated at 30-million dollars.
