Authorities say about 300,000 computers around the world stand to lose their Internet service Monday morning after the FBI shut off servers used by cyber thieves.
The FBI seized the servers last November during raids, as part of “Operation GhostClick”, to break up a gang of criminals.
Most of the affected computers are in the United States, Britain, and India.
But an estimated 9,000 Canadian-owned computers could be affected.
To check and see if your computer system may be affected by DNSChanger Malware – the malicious code that was used by the gang, check out this site : www.dns-ok.ca hosted by the Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA).
