Saying the move will provide better, and possibly more services – two local organizations say they want to amalgamate.
kidsLINK and Mosaic Counselling and Family Services may join together officially by the fall.
The two facilities help about 35-thousand children and adults in Waterloo Region.
The amalgamation is a move recommended by both boards of directors.
Officials vowing this won’t create any loss or disruption of services. Saying this would result in an even stronger, more comprehensive and integrated approach to providing community services in the area of child and youth mental health, professional services, respite care, youth engagement and development, family violence, individual and family counselling, credit counselling, settlement supports and community wellness.
kidsLINK board president Richard Steinmann says it’s a move done to provide better services, not to save money.
Mosaic board president Merv Redman says this amalgamation will help them meet clients’ changing needs.
