GRCA asks users to cut water use

Farmers along Whiteman’s Creek in Oxford and Brant counties have been asked to curb their water use by 20%.

Grand River Conservation Authority’s Dave Schultz says that’s because of how dry it has been, “Through most of the watershed in June, it wasn’t too bad, but if you look at the three month totals, it’s only in some cases about half of normal.”

Schultz says residents in the rest of the Grand River Watershed remains under a request issued in April to cut usage by 10%.

Schultz says the easiest way to do that is to follow your municipal watering bylaws.
