Northdale Plan Approved

It was a packed City of Waterloo council chambers on Monday night as councillors discussed the plan for the controversial Northdale neighbourhood.

According to the plan, it calls for the area, which is dominated by student and single-residential housing, to be converted to become multi-use, with a higher density.

A local newspaper reports Councillors approved the plan.

With no funds allocated for The Land Use and Community Development Plan, the matter is expected to be discussed again by council in the fall.

The report calls for the construction of primarily apartment and condo buildings, along with commercial space with green space and other amenities mixed in.
