There’s a saying in golf “drive for show, putt for dough.”
The St. Mary’s General Hospital Foundation will be getting some of that dough from the first-ever Manulife LPGA Classic in Waterloo this week.
In February, it was chosen as the official charity partner of the tournament.
They are expecting to raise a minimum of $250,000.
Funds will be put back into the hospital’s volunteer program and the Regional Cardiac Care Centre.
“Heart disease is the number one killer of women in this country…we’re hoping to raise the level of consciousness around the risk factors that are unique to them.” said
Peter Sweeney, President of the St. Mary’s General Hospital Foundation.
Manulife and the St. Mary’s General Hospital Foundation have had a long partnership with respect to the Regional Cardiac Care Centre.
