A heads up for K-W residents when you turn on your taps today.
Region of Waterloo Water Services is doing some water supply maintenance today and possibly throughout the week. That means residents may discover their water is discoloured, turning a brown-ish hue.
Officials with the region warn it could stain your laundry and recommends you don’t drink it.
In a release it recommends running the cold, unsoftened water tap nearest to your supply for about 10 minutes to clear the water.
If that doesn’t work, wait an hour and try again.
In a release, the work needed to be done includes replacing a faulty valve and requires isolating a “critical trunk water main”.
