Kitchener boxer Mandy Bujold takes more steps in the direction of her Olympic dream this week in Cornwall, Ontario.
She’s fighting in the Continental Championships, a tune-up for May’s World Championships.
At the Worlds, she will need to be one of the top 3 boxers from the Pan-Am countries in order to book a spot in the summer Olympics in London.
Bujold will face Zaida Enriquez of Mexico in the quarter-finals of the Continental’s on Thursday night.
There are ten women in her division that she may end up facing at the Worlds. “I might have to face a few of them (in Cornwall), depending on how the draw works out.” said Bujold.
Bujold has been keeping a hectic schedule since her wins at the Pan-Am Games and National Championships. “You just have to listen to your body and make sure you’re healthy.”
