The Kitchener Rangers won’t be as serious as they usually are when they hit the ice tonight.
They will face the Cambridge Ice Hounds and Kitchener Ice Pirates in their 5th Annual Charity Game to Support Special Needs Hockey.
The event runs from 6 until 8:30pm at The Aud.
Admission to the game is free with monetary donations welcome at the door,
with proceeds benefiting both teams.
The Ice Hounds and Ice Pirates are comprised of close to 100 children and adults that have developmental or physical challenges that prevent them from participating in traditional hockey programs.
“There are a lot of laughs…and a lot of memories are made that night.” said Cam Linwood, Head Coach and Director of Operations with the Ice Hounds.
“We really wanted to create a program that gives kids with special needs a chance to play in a regular hockey environment.”
