Romney on a roll; talking up his ability to create jobs

Republican presidential hopeful, Mitt Romney, has some serious momentum in his bid to become the party’s nominee for U.S. president.
He is the first Republican challenger in 36 years to have won both the Iowa caucus and the New Hampshire primary, and analysts say he is all but assured of winning the nomination if he wins the South Carolina primary later this month.
Washington-based political analyst and senior editor of the Rothenberg Report, Jessica Taylor, tells 570 News, Romney’s surge in party support has more to do with electability than likeablity; with his experience as head of the investment firm Bain Capital, during which time he created thousands and thousands of jobs.
“I think that is one thing that is motivating a lot of his supporters and even people who could be wary of him, believing that he may not be conservative enough”, says Taylor.
Taylor adds Republican voters will likely look past Romney’s more extreme social views, giving him the nod in the hope that with his success in business he can put more Americans to work. She also says he is a strong supporter of free trade, which could bode well for Canada in the event he is elected to the White House.
