Palliative care funding

Money for palliative care has been provided to the Waterloo-Wellington Community Care Access Centre.
Toni Adey with the Waterloo-Wellington Local Health Integration Network tells 570 News about the arrangement, “we have provided just over $476, 000 to the Waterloo-Wellington Community Care Access Centre to employ nursing and support workers to provide palliate services in the Waterloo Wellington Area, Adey said.
Adey said this funding is important, “we’re really pleased that we’re able to work with the CCAC and Lissard House and ensure that local residents are getting good quality safe care during some very difficult times in their lives.”
The funds will allow for up to 10 hospice-beds around the Region until a planned new facility for Lissard House is built, when the funding will support staff there.
