After the Conference Board of Canada released a report yesterday that lists Waterloo Region and many other municipalities in Ontario as having stagnant near-term job prospects, Premier McGuinty says programs like the new 30% off Ontario Tuition grant will help lead to economic prosperity and growth,
“That’s why, for example we have our Healthy Home Renovation Tax Credit, that helps seniors and creates jobs at the same time. So we’re looking for the kinds of measures that help families and strengthen the economy at the same time.”
McGuinty says the Ontario government wont adopt austerity measures that compromise the economy, or tackle fiscal challenges in a way that hurts economic growth
McGuinty was at Wilfrid Laurier University this morning, officially launching the new tuition grants. More on that story here.
