OPP from the Highway Safety Division’s Burlington Detachment are continuing to investigate a wheel separating from a truck which then struck a car, killing the driver, on December 22nd.
The investigation has led the OPP to believe that the second trailer tire became dislodged from the rig in the area between North Shore Blvd., in Burlington, and Niagara St., in St. Catharines.
The OPP have conducted physical and aerial searches of the area and are now asking the public’s assistance in locating the tire.
The OPP are looking for a complete tire and rim unit (11r22.5 in dimension—standard trailer tire, unknown manufacturer).
If the tire is located please refrain from moving it and immediately contact the OPP Provincial Communications Centre in Orillia at 1-888-310-1122 and an officer will be dispatched to the location.
