If you are dreaming of a white Christmas, the prospects at the moment don’t look terribly encouraging. It’s less than two weeks and counting until the big day and the short-term forecast suggests the snow we do have on the ground now will be gone in the coming days.
570 News weather specialist John Wilson says we can expect sunshine and temperatures slightly above freezing today and even milder as we head deeper into the week. On Thursday, we are looking at a high of at least plus seven with rain. On the bright side, if you are hoping for a white Christmas, the temperature is expected to drop off heading into this weekend with highs both days below freezing but we are also expecting a fair amount of sunshine both days. The normal high at this time of year is minus one with the average low minus 8.
The Weather Network’s two week temperature trend suggests high temperatures above freezing next week as we head into Christmas Day.
