Brant County man assaulted

A 72-year-old man Brant County man is in hospital after being assaulted in his home.

Provincial Police say he was attacked by a 31-year-old man who entered his Baird Street residence late yesterday morning. The suspect fled, but was arrested a short time later and is now in jail awaiting a bail hearing.

The victim is in stable condition at Hamilton General Hospital.
