Helicopter crash responders delayed?

A report out today suggests emergency crews were too slow to respond to Monday’s deadly helicopter crash.

According to the Record a fire truck that was on it’s way to the scene was involved in a minor collision and suffered significant damage.

As well a review conducted by the paper shows crews were also confused as to where the crash was located and uncertain communication continued for a few minutes after they received the call for help.

Cambridge Fire Chief Bill Chesney says that’s not unusual when a small aircraft crashes, the location is often unknown.

They say that only one fire fighter was at the Airport at the time of the crash and that the airport is only required to have fire fighters on standby for West Jet flights

The crash killed flight instructor Tiffany Hanna and badly injured student pilot Scott Puillandre.
