1:05 More than 12 years after hosting its last Maple Leafs game, Maple Leaf Gardens is set to reopen as “Toronto’s new crown jewel of food stores.” On November 30, officials with Loblaws supermarkets have announced they will open their new “Store at Maple Leaf Gardens” on the ground floor of the former arena. The interior will be almost unrecognizable from its days as a sports palace, but Loblaws promises a whole range of “food experiences” including a sushi bar, chocolate-by-the-chunk and “The Amazing Wall of Cheese,” an 18-foot-high wall of world cheeses complete with a 100-pound wheel of Stilton.
