Jolly Old St. Nick will once again be at the Annual Lions Club of Kitchener K-W Santa Claus Parade. It begins at King St. and Erb St. in Waterloo at 10 am and finishes at King St. and Cedar St. in Kitchener.
Victor Bovingdon is the President and Parade Chair of the Lions Club of Kitchener and tells 570News what you can expect at this years parade.
“This year we have 46 floats, 12 bands, there’s a total of 115 entries and of course Santa is in the parade. He’s at the end of it and of course we have the Teen Tour Burlington Band.”
Bovingdon says you are also encouraged to being a letter for Santa.
“Canada Post office will be there and they’re picking up Santa’s letters for special delivery to the North Pole. And we’re encouraging our Parade onlookers to bring unwrapped gifts for the Waterloo Knights of Columbus and the Waterloo Fire Department’s Annual Toy Drive.”
The Parade will be televised live from Kitchener City Hall starting at 11:00 a.m on Rogers Cable 20, and Bovingdon says the Food Bank of Waterloo Region will also have volunteers collecting food and cash donations along the Parade route.
