The Kitchener Rangers will be wearing special Remembrance Day jerseys tonight, it’s the 7th year they have done so.
Kitchener entertains the Sudbury Wolves.
In the last six years, the jersey silent auctions have raised almost $160,000.
One of the beneficiaries this year is the K-W Poppy Fund.
“We donate to local hospitals…and we help the veterans out who can’t get benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs for whatever reason, and there are quite a few of them like that.” said K-W Poppy Fund Chair Jim Myer.
“Every year we get a generous donation from the Rangers.”
This year’s jersey pays tribute to the 31 Combat Engineer Regiment (The Elgins).
Bidding on the jerseys starts at 6:30pm and closes 15 minutes after the game.
The Rangers are also asking fans to wear red to the game to show support for our troops and veterans.
570 News has the broadcast at 7pm.
